Paper Abstract:
|
This paper describes an ongoing research focused on the large-scale deployment of tablet computers in public high-schools districts in Brazil, which has been taking place since 2011 (Savarese, 2012). Unlike most of the studies that focused on the use of tablet computer, users adoption of the technology, teaching methods and learning outcome, this research aims to identify the main factors the influences the outcome of such deployment of tablet computers. The research investigates a phenomenon in which government-supported large-scale tablet computer roll outs in school districts around the word have been announced since 2010, with the advent of the popularization of the mobile devices (Tamim, Borokhovski, Pickup & Bernard, 2015). However, in several cases, the outcomes of such deployments have been different from the expected results. |
